MASTA ACE INCORPORATED

With an impressive resume in rap that includes membership in the legendary Juice Crew (alongside Marley Marl, MC Shan, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shante, and Craig G) and a verse on the 1988 classic posse cut 'The Symphony', Brooklyn's Masta Ace is truly one of hip hop's all-time greats. After his early successes on Cold Chillin' Records (including the single "Me and the Biz"), Ace came back in 1993 with his crew Masta Ace Incorporated and dropped the album Slaughtahouse on Delicious Vinyl. The album combined a trunk-rattling West Coast sound with an East Coast lyrical mentality, as heard on the smash 'Born to Roll'. In 1995 Masta Ace Incorporated delivered Sittin' on Chrome, another album chock full of Jeep beats attuned to underground tastes. None less than Eminem has acknowledged Masta Ace as a key influence on his own style and hip-hop culture as a whole.
